"Psalm 46:4" How to think with God in every category of life.

Psalm 46:4 - "There is a river, the streams whereof SHALL make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High".

There is a pure river of water of life that is flowing out of the Throne of God and the Lamb. (Rev.22:1)

This river is a reference to the teaching, healing and loving ministry of God the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. God wants to conform us to the image of His Son Christ Jesus. "For as a man thinks in his heart so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Therefore, it is very important that we are Spirit taught through the Word of God. This is why we need to have a Pastor/Teacher (Eph.4:11). If we are to have the heart of God for every detail of life, it is imperative that we receive instruction from the Word of God by a Pastor (Jer.3:16).

The streams thereof is a reference to every category of life. This is why we need categories of doctrine. For example: What do I think about premarital sex ? Is it okay to commit permarital sex ? Many will say it is okay because..."There is a way which seems right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death"(Proverbs 14:12). God says; :For this is the WILL of God, even your sanctification, that you should ABSTAIN from Fornication (premarital sex)" (1Thess. 4:3) Why ? Because it destroys the soul.

Now there are 5 parts to the soul:

1. The free will (volition) - freedom to choose

2. The emotions - left emotion & right emotion
3. The mind - where we process thoughts
4. The conscience
5. Self Consciousness

Now the free will is the guardian over the other 4 parts of the soul. Therefore, how we choose will affect our emotions, mind conscience and self-image.

What is a destroyed soul ?

1. Because the free will is making poor decisions the mind is confused, and the emotions are trying to think for the mind. The conscience begins to condem us, and as a result we don't know who we are so we add lables to ourselves, operate in self-defence mechanisms and blame others. Anger is a result of insecurity and sometimes depression, the end result is living in some level of fear.

The Process of Healing

"He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions". (Ps. 107:20)

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". (John 1:1)

"For Thou has magnified Thy Word above Thy Name". "In the day when I cried you answered me, and strengthend me with strength in my SOUL". (Ps. 138:2,3)

1. Cry out to God, He is waiting to be gracious to you. (Isa. 30:18)

2. Our thoughts must originate from the Word of God (the Bible), which is the mind of God.

3. Our frame of reference must always begin at the Cross, the "Finished Work" of Christ Jesus. We start out by saying; "He paid for all my sins and He loves me and will never leave me or forsake me". (Rom. 5:8), (Heb. 13:5)

4. Hear the Word of God, study the Word of God and always receive the Word by FAITH. Faith will release the power of the living Word and will heal the soul. (Rom 10:17, 14) (Heb. 4:2) (Heb. 11:6) (Heb. 4:12) (John 15:4)

5. Let the Blood of Christ cleanse the streams of your conscience from dead works, (performance motivated by guilt), but rather by the love of God and the establishment of GRACE in our hearts. (Heb. 9:14) (Heb. 13:9) "For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace"...

6. When we are convicted by the Word of God, agree with Him and do not become angry. Approach Him in meekness, agree with the Judge (The Word of God) and you will be humble before men. (Matt. 5:25) (Ps. 25:9) Remember that when we are humble and broken God can conform us into the image of His Son. (Philp. 2:5)

God bless you richly in His Grace, Mercy and Unconditional Love.
